Parson Drove fundraisers make £3,000 for Macmillan
Fundraisers from a Fenland village raised nearly £3,000 with their efforts for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Casey Bates and Isabelle Johnson, from Parson Drove, together with help from Pam Judge, raised £2,925 for the charity for the Wisbech Macmillan group.
Part of the money – £790.36 – was raised in July by selling refreshments in the village hall during the annual car and bike show. The total also included £50 from the sale of a car during the show.
A bingo, also in the village hall, in September, held in memory of Jonathan Summers, who died earlier in the year, raised £1,004.
And a further £1,080 was raised with a Macmillan coffee morning in September at the Emmanuel Church where Pam organised a draw prize and sold tickets.
Isabelle said: “Thank you to everyone for the help and support that was given, because without it this money couldn’t be raised.”
