Violent shoplifter arrested in Wisbech

Police arrested a violent shoplifter in Wisbech on Good Friday afternoon.

They were called to the B&M store in Elm High Road at 3.05pm and arrested a man on suspicion of shoplifting, assault, possession of a class B drug and for possession of an offensive weapon at the scene.

He was taken to the custody unit at King's Lynn, where Norfolk Police have taken on the investigation, which happened just inside the county.

Officers thanked people who assisted the officer at the scene.
