Volunteers take pride in Newton in the Isle's streets with a clean-up

The volunteers of the Newton Street Pride Group carried out their Spring Clean Litter Pick and collected a total of 28 full bags of rubbish on Thursday.
Plenty of minor fly tipping sites had been reported for clearing on verges with the worst of these being an approximately one mile stretch on two roads that by-pass the village, Little Ramper and part of Roman Bank, obviously all thrown from cars.
The group assembles and litter picks each month and regularly collects 10 bags of litter.
They are currently in the process of adding flower planters around the village for the enjoyment of not only the villagers but the many people passing through.
