Phone scammers targetting Wisbech-area residents

Police have issued a warning to all BT Open Reach customers following a number of reports of scam calls in the Fenland area.

Scammers are calling Fenland residents informing them their BT internet is frozen and asking them 'to choose option 1'.

A police spokesman said: "BT will never contact customers in this way. If in doubt about any unexpected phone call, hang up and seek advice from a trusted friend or relative."
