Warning to motorists to take care after sinkhole appears on busy Wisbech street
Drivers are being warned to drive carefully on a busy town road this morning.
Police are urging motorists to be careful through Weasenham Lane, Wisbech after a sinkhole appeared at its junction with Sandall Road.
This is not the first time a Wisbech road has been hit by a sinkhole.
In 2017 Weasenham Lane itself was subjected to a large sinkhole which ended up closing the road for sometiem while major repairs were carried out.
In 2019 Anglian Water launched an investigation after a sinkhole appeared in Walton Road, Wisbech caused by a burst water main.
And in June last year two sinkholes appeared in separate roads. The first on Ramnoth Road and then just a short while later a second on Blackfriars Road.
Then in July a small hole appeared in Victoria Road, Wisbech.
