Wisbech mum and charity worker takes the plunge from Northampton Lift Tower
Fundraising mum Lisa Lowe who is busy completing a year of giving to mark her 50th birthday in September took the plunge for her most-nerve racking event to date.
The charity worker from Wisbech is do a monthly event linked to Parkinson's UK where she has worked for the past 18 months.
Lisa, who is married to Nidge and has a teenage son Ciaran, wanted to make her 50th count and promised to do something for her charity every month.
And last weekend she joined dozens of other fundraisers to abseil down the side of the Northampton Lift Tower - a staggering 127m high.
She said: "It was a brilliant experience. Going over the edge wasn’t as bad as I thought helped by the fact that you aren’t looking down at that point. I raised £300 too which is fantastic."
So far Lisa has organised a Spooky Sprint, volunteered in other departments at Parkinson's UK, helped at the charity's various fundraisers, and held a fun day and spinathon and with the £300 from her abseil has raised over £4,000 for the charity.
Still to come is a garden party for her friends and family, and helping as a chaperone in September for Parkinson's UK's Moveable Feast, which will mark the end of her endeavours.
