Spontaneous line dancing and a rodeo bull were some of the attractions on offer during a country and western themed market at the weekend.

Wisbech Town Council organised for a taste of the wild west to come to the town as part of the Love Market events.

On Saturday, scores of people were attracted to the Market Place to sit on a straw bale and enjoy line dancing and singing.

Entertainment was provided by Merv and Maria Futter who sang for the crowd.

Also, a troop of line dancers, who had not been booked, turned up on the day to help bring an extra special touch to the proceedings.

Youngsters also had a go at riding the rodeo bull.

Town clerk Terry Jordan said: “The event did bring more people into the area. The whole point was to expose people to the market and what there is on offer.

“We feel the event was a success as it did draw in extra people.”

On Sunday, the council also held its first car boot sale in the Market Place, which also drew in shoppers. People wishing to hold a pitch at the next car boot sale are urged to just turn up.

The council will be hosting another country and western themed market on Saturday when Rattleshack will be performing.
