Wisbech accountancy firm announces his and her's promotions for husband and wife team

Promotions are well deserved for a couple at a Wisbech-based accountancy firm.

Wheelers Chartered Accountants and Tax Consultants have announced the recent promotions of Stephanie and Simon Welland in their respective specialist areas.

Both Stephanie and Simon qualified from trainees at the Wisbech based practice, and are now married to each other. In fact they are just one of a few married couples to work together at Wheelers.

Stephanie a Chartered Accountant, went on to study for her Chartered Tax exams as well.

She is now the internal Tax Advisor for the practice and has a small portfolio of personal tax clients. More recently she has been working with Mary Plant, who retired on April 30, to take on the specialist tax area and client portfolio.

Simon, who runs the practice’s corporate department, will also be known to many of Wheeler’s clients as he has worked tirelessly over the last 12 months getting many of them from paper and pen bookkeeping onto computerised packages, in readiness for the Making Tax Digital (MTD) scheme. Simon also holds an audit qualification in addition to being a Chartered Accountant.

Helen Garrett, co-partner of Wheelers, said “We are delighted to welcome Steph and Simon as Associates in the Practice, they have both worked very hard for the well deserved promotions in their respective specialist areas. Both will be known to many of our clients already and I know they are looking forward to getting to know many more clients and helping them to develop their businesses. The timing of their promotions whilst we are in lockdown means that we have not been able to mark the occasion formally but we look forward to doing this when we are allowed.”
