Opening hours at Wisbech library will be reducing under county council cost-cutting plans.
The town’s library will be shutting on a Monday afternoon from Monday, April 25.
Cambridgeshire County Council needs to save £48 million over the next financial year and will save £700,000 by reducing the opening hours of libraries.
The library’s Linda Martin made the announcement during the latest Wisbech Town Council meeting.
She also told the councillors that the library’s free computers are the most heavily used in the county.
She said staff have found it difficult on busy days to manage the situation as people are queueing to use the library’s computers.
Mrs Martin said the job centre has been sending people over but it is planning to increase its number of computers.
“There is a very real need for the public to access free computers in Wisbech.”
Councillors also advised her to get in contact with the Oasis Centre, which has a suite of computers.
