Wisbech school wins centre of excellence award

Wisbech’s Thomas Clarkson Academy (TCA) has received a Centre of Excellence award for its Facilities Management.

The Mitie group manages facilities at more than 120 schools across the country and TCA was one of just 10 to be given a Centre of Excellence award. Criteria which had to be met to gain the award included customer satisfaction, sustainability and management. An inspection of the school took place in which every area inspected, including cleaning standards, grounds maintenance and catering, was graded as good or excellent. Facilities manager Barry Read said: “We at Mitie pride ourselves on our commitment to working with the school to provide as safe, comfortable and clean an environment as possible to enable the staff and students to enjoy the optimum teaching and learning experience.

“We work in close unison with the Senior Leadership Team and all other staff and regularly share ideas to continue to improve on the very high standards already set.”
