Wisbech volunteers hope trees will blossom next spring

Members of Wisbech Street Pride celebration National Plant a Tree Day recently by planting not one but eight trees.
The volunteers joined forces with Wisbech in Bloom volunteers to plant eight flowering cherry trees along South Brink to mark the national day on November 30 organised by the Woodland Trust.

It was a freezing cold and foggy morning but the volunteers pictured: Penny Stocks, Ruth Freeman, Stan Spinks, Tim Jellis, Dave Judd and Brian Massingham, as well as Alan Wheeldon who supplied the photograph, were not deterred and just for good measure the group also planted crocuses around the base of each tree.
