Witness appeal after man is killed in A47 crash
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man in 70s was killed in a crash on the A47 outside Lynn.
A red Audi A3 and a white Volvo lorry were involved in a collision on Constitution Hill, close to the Hardwick roundabout, at about 3.30pm.
The Audi was travelling along the A47 towards Lynn when it was involved in a collision with the lorry, which had been travelling in the Swaffham direction.
Emergency services, including fire and ambulance attended, but sadly the car driver, a man in his 70s, who did not come from the local area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car passenger, a woman, is currently in a serious condition at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, after suffering head injuries.
The male driver of the lorry received minor injuries.
The road was closed until shortly after 9.10pm while emergency services carried out their enquiries.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who believes they may have seen the Audi prior to the collision. Witnesses are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) at Norfolk Constabulary on 101.
