Wisbech woman caught with crack cocaine shoplifted projector from B&M on Cromwell Road

A woman from Wisbech appeared in court after shoplifting and found possessing a class A drug.

Naomi Sioux Bowles, 28, of Kingfisher Drive, admitted to steeling a projector to the value of £59 and possessing crack cocaine.

Prosecutor Qamar Iqbal told King's Lynn Magistrates court on Thursday that Bowles was caught on CCTV on Friday, September 30 putting an item from a shelf into her bag.

It happened in B&M Stores on Cromwell Road and it followed Bowles being cautioned for a theft back in July.

On Monday, June 20, she was caught with the possession of the class A drug.

Hugh Cauthery, mitigating, said Bowles had a lot to contend with at the time and had an "uncontrollable habit" for taking cocaine.

He added that she had managed to break the habit after discovering that she was pregnant.

Chair of the magistrates, John Hare said: "When I saw your previous conviction, I was surprised that it was only a caution.

"You need to knock the bad stuff on the head, you've had a bad spell, stop it before it snowballs."

Bowles was given a 12 month conditional discharge for theft from a shop and ordered to pay compensation to B&M for £59.

An added fine of £50 was given for the possession of the cocaine.
