Wonderland of fun at Wisbech Castle for Easter weekend
Around 1,200 people enjoyed a 'Wonderland' of Easter fun at Wisbech Castle over the weekend thanks to the efforts of volunteers.
The sunshine brought out the crowds for the Castle's first major event of the year which saw a host of Easter activities based on Alice in Wonderland. These included a Mad Hatter's Tea party where children could enjoy refreshments with Alice, while the White Rabbit and the Wisbech Giant also mingled with visitors.
There were arts and crafts inside including drawing classes. There were dungeon tours and music provided by DJ Steve Tierney.
Steve, who is chairman of the Wisbech Castle Working Party, said: "It was a fantastic two days, we had over 1,200 attend over the two days. Most of the activities were free which was great for families. The volunteers - there were about 20 dressed up - joined the visitors and added to the fun and they all did a great job."
"I really don't think it could have gone any better. The café was open as well and did a really good trade."
