World Book Day sees Thomas Clarkson Academy teachers dress to impress
Captain Hook and William Shakespeare joined a Wisbech school for lessons as staff created fantastic costumes to mark World Book Day.
More than 50 of the team at the Thomas Clarkson Academy, Wisbech, joined the fun and brought some life to literary characters of all genres.
Entire departments dressed to a theme - with the humanities group all taking characters from Peter Pan, including the crocodile and the science department dressing from The Wizard of Oz.
“World Book Day is a really nice way for the staff to get involved in something that’s fun and also encourages our students to think about literature and how characters become part of our lives,” said librarian and event organiser Leanne Robinson.
Students also take part by identifying each member of staff and the character they are playing for the day with all the entries going into the hat for a competition.
