You can now pick-up a copy of your favourite newspaper - the Fenland Citizen - for free at numerous outlets in Chatteris

From this week, readers in the Chatteris area will find it easier to get hold of your favourite newspaper, the Fenland Citizen.

You have spoken and we have listened. Providing a reliable door-to-door distribution service in this rural area has proved increasingly difficult and some residents of Chatteris have not been getting their copy of the Citizen.

You’ve told us that by phone, email and social media. So now we are going to make sure that everybody who wants a copy of this much-loved paper can get it, free of charge.

From this week you will find the Fenland Citizen in clearly-marked newspaper dispensers at venues all over Chatteris.

Among the places where you can pick up a free copy of the Citizen are: The Old Bakery tearooms and restaurant, T Payne & Co estates agents, Ellis Winters estate agents, Kavanagh Hayes estate agents, Harrison Murray estate agents, Maxey Grounds estate agents, Optima estate agents, Alphalets Letting Agency, Chatteris library and community hub, Ormiston Chatteris child and family centre, Aspinalls newsagent, Chatteris post office, NISA (High Street), NISA (Park Street) and Jack’s supermarket.

Mark Leslie, editor of the Fenland Citizen, said: “We know from what you tell us, that you have found it frustrating when your copy doesn’t pop through your letterbox.

“By using this locally-managed ‘pick-up’ method of distribution, through shops and community hubs such as at the library, everyone will have access to the Fenland Citizen.

“And please let us know if you have any difficulty finding the paper.”
