Young March chefs cook up a storm in annual Rotary Young Chef competition
Ten aspiring Masterchefs were encouraged to display their skill at the annual local heat of the Rotary Young Chef competition.
Held at the Neale-Wade Academy in March the even was organised by the March Rotary Club's youth and vocational committee chaired by John Orbell and supervised by the school's head of catering, Miss J Sinclair.
The judges were Harry Baird, Jon Martin and Andrew Pugh. Each contestant had to prepare a three course meal for two within a limited budget, with the emphasis on healthy eating and a wide range of appetising dishes.
These were prepared for display and sampling. The winner, who will now advance to the district finals in Bury St Edmunds in February was Keeley Lusher-Glenister and the runner- up was Abigail O’Mahony.
March Rotary would like to thank all who supported the event, including all those at Neale Wade who facilitated the event and especially Miss Sinclair and the participants, their families and the three judges.
