Sutton Bridge youngsters raise £500 towards Terrington St Clement school project during sponsored walk

A group of young sponsored walkers have raised £500 towards a school project.

Twenty-two youngsters, accompanied by eight adults, set off on Tuesday from Sutton Bridge to Terrington St Clement and back, walking 10.2 miles to raise money for a project to provide an outdoor shelter for St Clement Community School.

The idea came from brothers Oliver, 7, and Finley Patterson, 11, of Sutton Bridge, who wanted to do something to help the project.

They were joined on the day by school friends, and mum Claire Sykes said they all did very well.

The walkers stopped for an hour for lunch at Clements cafe/restaurant in Terrington before heading back.

Claire said: “They all loved it, it was great fun. I would say the last half hour everyone started to struggle a bit but they all got to the finish line.”
