March Marvels ladies' cricket team drew with Sutton in their first ever game
March Marvels ladies' cricket team played their very first game against Sutton last week.
This came after inspiring July training sessions.
The Marvels fielded first and bowled well to restrict their opponents to 85 in their 14 overs. They then set about chasing their runs well, scoring 50 in their first eight overs.
Some tight bowling in the middle overs pegged them back, but they rallied well to equal the 85 in 14 overs.
A draw was considered a fair result between two evenly matched sides.
Club chairman Ian Liversedge told the team he loved their spirit, that he could see great potential in the squad and that he is looking forward to watching them again in the future.
Training for the Marvels continues this week before they travel to Chippenham to take part in their Ladies festival.
