Parson Drove keep up the pressure




Parson Drove continue their impressive start to the Peterborough League premier division season with a 5-2 win at Cardea this afternoon.

The victory lifts Robbie Harris' men up to third place, just two points from leaders Stilton, who lost for the first time, at home to second-placed Netherton United.Goals came from Tyler Wright (2), Dan Hempson, Josh Maguire and substitute Reagan Brown.

In the same division, Long Sutton Athletic drew their mid-table encounter 1-1 at Uppingham Town, Chris Ward scoring, but Leverington Sports lost 3-1 at Peterborough North End Sports, their solitary goal coming from a Harley Hollis penalty.

Tydd are up to 10th in Division One and celebrating back-to-back victories after winning 4-0 at Pinchbeck United Reserves, where Jake Mason and Bradley Easey both scored twice, but in Division Two, Wisbech Town Reserves suffered only a second defeat of the season when they lost 3-1 at second-placed Ramsey Town.

Also in Division Two, Long Sutton Reseves won 3-0 at home to FC Hampton, with scorers Sam Moses, Matty Cawthorn and Brandon England.

Tydd Reserves made it a good day for the club when they beat Stamford Lions Reserves 6-0 in Division Three, but Leverington Sports Reserves lost 4-3 at home to Kings Cliffe Reserves, Sports goals coming from Aaron Hurrell, Lewis Bass and an own goal.

It was an awful day in Division Four for Long Sutton Athletic A as they were thrashed 8-0 at home to title favourites, Deeping United, but in Division Five, Sutton Bridge United remain top of the table after an 11-1 hammering of Dreams Reserves.

Kurt Scott netted five times and there were braces for Ben English, Joseph Sutton and Ben Thompson.

In the Cambridgeshire County League Kershaw Senior A, March Town United Reserves returned to form with a 4-3 victory at Bassingbourn, Ben Baker netting twice and the other goals coming from Kai Wales and Conor Mazurek.

In Kershaw Senior B, Wisbech St Mary Reserves lost 3-0 at league leaders Fordham.

AFC Walpole made it four wins from four in Division 1B with a 3-1 victory over lowly Fenstanton, the goals coming from captain Lewis Clayton, Jake Miller and Callum Elsey.

Also with four wins out of four are rivals Outwell Swifts, who beat Alconbury 3-2 at home after leading 3-0 at the break, goals coming from Ben Jimson, Luke Plumb and Peter Ryan.

In the same division, Chatteris Town lost 1-0 at league leaders Swavesey Institute.

March Town United A are only a point off the top of Kershaw Junior 2B after a 3-1 victory at bottom placed Chatteris Town Reserves, goals coming from James Monaghan, Tom Morton and Finley Clark. Anton Kaval scored for the Lilies.

There was a first defeat of the season for Benwick Athletic as they lost 4-3 at league leaders Soham United Youths Men's, James Harness netting twice for Athletic and Dayne Moore also scoring.

Guyhirn move away from the bottom places though after winning 5-3 at second-from-bottom Wisbech Town Acorns, who scored through Krzysztof Masiarz, Thomas Nunn and sub Joseph Wheatley.

AFC Christchurch Magpies are up to fifth place in Kershaw Junior 3C after a 4-2 home win over Somersham Town Reserves, Daniel Williams netting twice and Robert Munden and Daniel Harradine also scoring.

Sixth place Manea United lost 2-1 at bottom-of-the-table Littleport Town, Nathan Veglio scoring for United, and March Academy and Doddington United drew 1-1, Thomas Hinton netting for the Academy and Dylan Pettit for United.

Finally, in Kershaw Junior 4C, Fen Tigers Engineers are up to second after winning 9-0 at Doddington United Reserves, Brandon Ransome and substitute Scott Boswell scoring two each and other goals coming from Dean Joyce, Robbie Ryan, Jack Smith, George Terry and sub Lee Ransome. Manea United Reserves got a first point of the campaign when drawing 1-1 at home with Outwell Swifts Reserves, Harry Dean scoring for United and Lewis Pine for Swifts.

Guyhirn Reserves won 3-1 at home to March Academy Reserves, Benwick Athletic Reserves were beaten 3-0 at home to Hartford Rangers and bottom side Chatteris Town A lost 5-1 to Lakenheath Casuals Reserves at West Street, Sam Matthews getting their solitary goal.
