Tydd off the mark with first win




Tydd won their first game since voluntary demotion from the Peterborough League Premier Division when they beat Thorpe Wood Rangers this afternoon.

Our photographer was on hand to witness the 3-0 Division One victory, with goals coming from Timmy Magnus, Jordan Clow and Ryan Ingle.

Parson Drove bounced back from last week's disappointing home defeat to Uppingham Town to win 3-1 at Eye United in the Premier Division. Goals from Dan Hempson, Aaron Eyett and player manager Robbie Harris saw Drove up to third in the table.

It was a bad afternoon for Leverington Sports, however, who lost 6-1 at home to second-placed Netherton United, Lewis Day netting for Sports.

In the Lincolnshire Junior Cup, Long Sutton put last week's 10-1 defeat at Netherton behind them when they defeated Keeby United 4-2 at home in the Lincolnshire Junior Cup first Round. Scorers were Jake Clitheroe (2), Matt Eaton and Sam Lally.

Wisbech Town Reserves are up to fourth in Division Two after a 3-0 victory at previously unbeaten Orton Rangers, Mariusz Kudyba, Ivaylo Raychev and sub Shane Green on target. There was also a win for Long Sutton Athletic Reserves, who triumphed 5-2 at Wittering Premiair Reserves, with Jack Greenacre getting a hat-trick and Brandon England netting twice.

Leverington Sports Reserves crashed 4-1 at Peterborough Reserves in Division Three, Tyron Elms their scorer, and Tydd Reserves went down 8-0 at Cardea Reserves.

There was a second win of the season for Long Sutton Athletic A when they triumphed 3-0 at Orton Rangers Reserves in Division Four, Jordan Nicholls (2) and Ash Allen scoring.

In Division Five, Sutton Bridge United hit top spot for the first time after beating Wittering Premiair 'B' 4-1 on their own turf.

Bridge goals came from Ben English, Robert Hook, Kurt Scott and Joseph Sutton.

In the Cambrideshire County League, Wisbech St Mary Reserves lost 5-2 at home to Duxford United in Kershaw Senior B.

In Kershaw Junior 1B, it looks like Outwell Swifts and AFC Walpole will be battling it out for the top spot this season. With Swifts not playing, the Honey Badgers joined them on nine points from three games with a 6-0 away demolition of Chatteris Town at West Street.

Goals came from Luke Whyatt, Robbie Knight, Joe Reed, Jake Hopkisson, Jake Ogden and Charlie Talmage.

March Town United A are up to second place in Kershaw Junior 2B after a 9-1 thrashing of Wisbech Town Acorns at Gorefield Playing Field. Ben Pearce scored for Acorns, who were reduced to ten men after Matthew Gill was dismissed.

Hares scorers were Adam Mills (3), Ryan Roberts (2), Josh Williams (2), James Monaghan and Kyle Liddy.

Benwick Athletic are third and undefeated after a 2-2 home draw with Wimblington, Matt Grainger and Dayne Moore scoring for Athletic and Martin Porter and Ryan Smith for the visitors.

Chatteris Town Reserves stay bottom of the table despite picking up their first points of the season with a 4-2 win at Guyhirn, Anton Kaval hitting a hat-trick and Matthew Walshe netting the other.

Doddington United recorded their first win of the season in Kershaw Junior 3C, beating Littleport Town 4-0, with Michael Croucher getting a hat-trick and Nathan Gomez scoring the other. But Manea United were defeated 2-1 at home to Houghton & Wyton Reserves, Alex Pitt scoring for Manea.

In Kershaw Junior 4C, undefeated Fen Tigers Engineers are up to second place after beating Guyhirn Reserves 3-0 at home, with goals from Jack Ryan, Robbie Ryan and Robert van kopenhagen.

Outwell Swifts Reserves are fourth after a 4-4 home draw with Huntingdon United Reserves. Swifts were 4-2 down with 10 minutes left, but battled back with a great second goal for captain Martin Bowman securing a draw. Richard Mills also netted twice.

In the same division, Benwick Athletic Reserves inflicted a first defeat of the season on Hemingfords United A with a 6-2 away win, Daniel Blake netting twice and Jacob Gray, Shae Pooley, Kian Pooley and sub James Osborne scoring.

Doddington United Reserves lost 6-1 at Lakenheath Casuals Reserves, Ashley Clarke scoring.

Finally, Tommy Channon was sent off as Chatteris Town A were thrashed 12-0 at Hartford Rangers.
