Students from the 14 Mark Farnham Schools of Tae Kwon-Do have the opportunity to take part in Colour Belt Grading examinations four times a year.

These are conducted by 9th Dan Tae Kwon-Do Grand Masters from around the country, who each have over 40 years' experience.

To take part in a grading a student needs to have worked for an allotted time and be up to a good standard for the grade they are taking.

Students all start at White belt and work though Yellow, Green, Blue and Red belt grades until they are ready to aim for their Black Belts which they take at Bristol in front of a panel of five 9th Dan Grandmasters.

The Mark Farnham Schools have their gradings at Providence Street Youth Centre, King’s Lynn.

Gradings are held on Sundays and start with a one hour training session where the student runs through the requirements for their grading, and then they take part in their grading session.

The Grading on Sunday, October 14 saw 107 students attend three gradings on the day. Some children down to the age of 5 years were taking part.

This also included four Black Belt Juniors taking Star gradings, which are levels of competence within the Junior 1st Dan Black Belt Grade.

They achieved a massive pass rate with only two students being unsuccessful this time, the Examiner on this occasion was Grand Master Ron Sergiew 9th Dan.

This makes a total of well over 13,900 students passing colour belt gradings with the schools in the last 30 years.

Students receive their grades and belts at presentations which are held at their own School during the next week.
