Andrew Kilby wins Tydd Gote Angling Club Mega Mania on North Level, pipping Andy Spencer

By Pete Woodhouse

The North Level at Main Road was the venue for the final of Tydd Gote Angling Club’s Mega Mania event on Sunday, with 30 qualifiers from as far afield as Boston, March and Chatteris competing with local anglers for the top prize.

Andrew Kilby was crowned 2019 champion with a top weight of 6lb 4oz from peg 34, which included his customary 4lb-plus bream, just enough to pip Andy Spencer’s 5lb 13oz from peg 35.

Andy also had a bream close to 5lb that made up the bulk of his net.

Section A winner was Steve Fox with 4lb 10oz, Section B was won by John Taylor with 3lb 6oz and Section C was taken by Paul Bawden with 4lb 6oz.
