Don Green rolls back years at Tydd Gote Angling Club’s Sunday match at Main Road to pip Dave Simmonds

Don Green rolled back the years to show them all how it was done at Tydd Gote Angling Club’s Sunday match at Main Road.

Don drew golden peg 4 and was into fish almost from the off, with good roach and skimmers coming to his maggot hookbait over hemp which also accounted for a 4lb-plus tench, boosting his weight to an excellent 20lb 14oz and a clear win.

Second from peg 3 was Dave Simmonds with a roach and skimmer based net of 11lb 8oz to maggot and pinkie over groundbait and hemp, assisted with a half dozen good perch from his worm line.

Martyn Thomas took fourth with a mixed bag of silvers on the lead from peg 2, catching and feeding with maggot.
