Angler Dave Simmonds on Tydd Gote Wednesday Open hot steak on North Level at Main Road
Dave Simmonds is on a winning streak at the moment with three wins out of five matches following his victory in the Tydd Gote Wednesday Open on the North Level at Main Road.
Dave was on peg 28 and took a 5lb tench from his worm line, a 5lb bream on the feeder and some silvers to just pip Dennis Houghton’s fine bag of quality roach from peg 32, caught on hemp and tares.
John Taylor was third with 11lb 5oz of mostly small fish from peg 19.
At the Sunday club match, Andrew Kilby was on peg 26 and snared a 5lb plus bream close in and topped up with some good roach to seed for 10lb 13oz and the win.
He was pushed all the way by Archie Greenwood on peg 20 who tempted some big roach up to a pound to his pinkie and hemp hook bait for 10lb 1oz and the runners-up spot.
Don Green was on peg 32 and took third place with 5lb of good roach to pinkie and seed with Andy Lawrence in fourth with 3lb 12oz that included a bonus perch of close to a pound from peg 22.
