Tydd Gote Angling Club: match report for w/e March 1.

Pete Emery took the honours at the latest Sunday club match with two bonus fish in the final half hour to secure the win and top spot in the Winter Points League.

But it was a difficult day for all those taking part with a howling downstream wind and an influx of cold water discouraging the fish from feeding.

Emery took a good skimmer on his long pole line with 30 minutes left and then added a tench last cast, both to worm, for his 4lb 14oz net. Don Green was second with 5oz of micro roach with Steve Borrett third on 2oz and Dennis Houghton in fourth with 1oz.

Final league placings: 1 Pete Emery 129 points; 2 Andrew Kilby 117 points; 3 Don Green 90 points; 4 Steve Borrett 83 points; 5 Dennis Houghton 78 points.

Wednesday Open: 1 John Taylor 7lb 8oz; 2 Don Green 5lb 12oz; 3 Dennis Houghton 4lb 8oz.
