Pete Emery in fine Tydd Gote Angling Club form at Main Road with Dennis Houghton runner-up again
Pete Emery is still in fine form and put on a superb display at the Tydd Gote Angling Club Sunday club match at Main Road with a fine bag of roach, rudd and skimmers.
Emery was on the concrete and alternated whip and long pole with pinkie and tares feeding hemp for an excellent 16lb 8oz.
Dennis Houghton was runner-up again, from peg 5, with some quality roach and skimmers to his maggot and pinkie hook bait over hemp for a fantastic 14lb 14oz and, but for a lot of pike activity in the last hour, would have pushed Pete even closer.
It was also a close run thing for the minor places, Andrew Kilby taking third place with 12lb 14oz, and Don Green fourth on 12lb 2oz, just in front of Steve Borrett’s 11lb 12oz.
Wednesday Open at Main Road: 1 Mick Asker 6lb 11oz; 2 John Taylor 5lb 12oz; 3 Sammy McSpadden 5lb.
