Silvers and tench boost Andrew Kilby to beat Pete Emery on North Level for Tydd Gote Angling Club match at Main Road

The North Level at Tydd Gote was low with a steady flow for the latest Sunday Tydd Gote Angling Club match at Main Road and with a frost on the ground most of the day anglers wondered if the fish would feed.

But the drain continues to produce results even when conditions are less than perfect with Andrew Kilby putting 10lb 2oz on the scales from peg 3, around 5lb of silvers to a short pole line topped up with a 5lb tench on his worm rig to take the win.

Pete Emery was second, an all small fish catch on a variety of methods for 7lb 2oz.

Pete was just below the concrete this week but found the fish on waggler, whip and long and short pole. Don Green had a single fish from peg 4, but it was a 6lb tench and that gave him enough for third place just in front of Dennis Houghton’s 5lb 3oz of small fish from peg 2.

Wednesday Open at Main Road: 1 John Taylor 7lb; 2 Archie Greenwood 5lb 15oz; 3 Dennis Houghton 2lb 2oz.
