Runners spelling it out
Still following the Government COVID-19 guidelines, Three Counties Running Club's latest lockdown challenge was that members had to spell out their name by using street names, village names or town names while on their chosen run/walk.
The idea was to plan their route to include streets to spell out their name. It could be just their first name, surname or their full name. They would then take a picture of each sign while on the route and then at the end, points were awarded. Street name was worth three points, village name two and a town name one.
Some members had to be creative as they struggled to find some of the letters in their name but it was a fun challenge for all the participants. The winner was Sarah Johnson who managed a fantastic total by also spelling out her maiden name whilst on route.
- On April 30, as the wonderfully inspiring Captain Tom Moore celebrated his 100th birthday, a few of the members took on The Captain Tom 10k run to honour his magnificent fundraising achievements.
- Mark Mattless' 26.2 mile challenge (over two weeks) is still continuing to raise money for St John's Ambulance with two club members – Johnny Beesley and Sarah-jane Macdonald – running In fancy dress.
