March athletes battle it out in latest round of Frostbite League
March Athletics Club members were out across the Fenland area, despite some tough weather conditions.
The Frostbite League saw its fourth and final race at Jubilee Park, where juniors and seniors both had very successful outings.
Archie Bullman led the way for the juniors by finishing ninth in the whole event in 10:41.
Liberty Sibthorp was second home for the team in just over 12 minutes with Rowan Whittlsey, Austin Sibthorp and Luke Royston close after.
Maisie Whittlesey and Layla Friars were the next two through the finish line as the juniors secured a podium finish in 3rd place for the season.
The seniors had an equally impressive day as Glen Watts won the race in 28:38.
Andy Cole, Mark Godfrey and Tim Brammer were next home for the team in tough conditions with mud covering most of the course with rain belting down throughout as well.
Tina Lambert was the leading lady for the club in 44:51 followed by Samatha Hodson and Sonia Witham as the club secured fifth for the year out of 16 teams.
Elsewhere, Kanina O'Neil starred in the Oundle 20-miler as she finished second in her age category as she put the final pieces into her jigsaw ahead of the London Marathon.
She finished in a remarkable time of 02:16:26.
Mike Blacklede also competed as he continues to enjoy his running, whilst producing consistent strong showings.
Mark Pegler completed the Cambridge Boundary Half Marathon on a difficult course with a 30 per cent trail route through very muddy fields.
Pegler's great run saw him finish in 02:27:56.
