Attacking player leaves March Town

March Town go in to Saturday’s FA Vase clash at home to Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers without local talent Stef Cavozzi.

The attacking player has been a part of manager Ash Taylor’s squad for several seasons without managing to force his way into a regular starting place and has decided to leave The Hares.

Taylor said: “After having a sit down with Stef it was decided that the best move for him right now would be to find a club where he can play regular football as that’s what he needs at this point in his football career.

“Reluctantly I had to agree to this as I have to think what’s best for him and that is to play more minutes than he has been playing for us.

”Since I joined the football club Stef has been an exemplary team player with the best attitude and always gave his all for the team and football club. Thank you for all your efforts Stef and the door will always be left open for you.”

Cavozzi made 65 appearances for March over five seasons, many of them from the bench.”

March are fourth in the United Counties Premier South going into Saturday’s FA Vase First Qualifying Round clash with Thurlow Nunn First Division North mid-tablers Dussindale.

On Saturday they drew 1-1 at Leicester Nirvana, after finding themselves 1-0 down at half time to a 38th minute Jorrin John penalty. But sub Craig Gillies came off the bench to rescue a point for The Hares with an 84th minute equaliser.

March: Gill, Green, Saunders, Withers (Gillies), Emmington, Brumby, Burrows (Biggs), Tate, Foy, Cotton, Williams (Escorcio). Subs (not used): Pepper, Callaghan. Star man: Matty Foy.
