Stock car action returns to King's Lynn this weekend

A lockdown-enforced delay to the start of the stock car and banger racing season ends this weekend at the Adrian Flux Arena in King’s Lynn with two events taking place.

‘Stock Car Heaven’ is on Saturday (5.30pm) when the F1 and V8 stock cars and ministox are in action, while the bangers take centre stage on Sunday (1pm).

Entry to both events is by advance ticket only. The F1 meeting on Saturday is already sold out but a handful of tickets remain for Sunday’s action.

It is the Sunday session where most local interest lies. The meeting is the first of two raising awareness of men’s poor mental health.

It will be supporting the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM – www.thecalmzone.net), with £1 from each admission going to the charity and drivers also being sponsored, together with a number of other fundraising initiatives.

The main event on Sunday is the 2L Banger War of the Worlds which sees teams of up to six drivers compete.

A number of local drivers will be in action in this including Cieran Harmer and Ryan Sutcliffe, who will be in action for the Aftermath, James Licquorice who will be in action for the Dover Boys, and Kieran and Bradley Bowman who are in action for the Predators.

All three teams will have realistic aims of taking the top silverware and will have their many fans cheering them on.

The 1500cc Bangers are also in action on Sunday. Kieran Bowman and James Licquorice will be busy as they look to race in both the 2L and 1500cc bangers while just racing the 1500cc bangers will be James Ellis, Joel Allen, Aston Gibbons, Jack Bailey, Lennie Murkin, Ryan Bartrum and Dan Clarke.

Completing the action will be the junior bangers of Louie Cottrill, Levi Murkin, Jade Ellis, Alfie Nottingham and brother and sister duo of Katelyn and Rhys Parrin.
