March Golf Club members enjoy Selby Taylor Cup and progress in Daily Mail foursomes competition
March golfers got back into the competitive swing of things over the last few weekends.
After a break from play over the winter months, Saturday April 9 saw the start of March golf club competitions - with over 80 members signing up to play in the Selby Taylor Cup.
The presentation was made at an evening reception hosted by the Selby Taylor family.
Jo Rowlett and Mark Conyard won trophies for the highest Stableford score, with Conyard winning the overall competition and receiving the cup from Maninder Kalsi.
Mark said: "I was delighted to win the cup and I thanked the Selby Taylor family for their continued support of March Golf Club."
On Sunday April 10, Emma Athow and Gail Arnold fought for a hard-earned win against ladies from Lakeside Lodge Pidley to go through to the next round of the Daily Mail foursomes competition.
March ladies captain Margaret Butt said: "We are so pleased with the great progress that Emma and Gail are making, they are really good advocates for March and women in golf."
The Daily Mail foursomes competition sees players from across the country take part.
The 2022 finals will be held at Marriott St. Pierre in Chepstow, with Gail and Emma getting closer to realising their dream of attending.
