March Bears Rugby Club won their first match of the season against Thorney
March Bears launched a stunning comeback to come from 19-0 down and triumph 44-26 in their opening game of the season.
Home side Thorney had streaked ahead during the opening 20 minutes to build what looked like an unassailable lead, but March had brought it back to 19-10 by the end of the first half.
After a few more setbacks, the Bears embarked on a run of four tries in 20 second half minutes to put the game beyond their opponents.
The result was made all the more impressive by the fact that March were missing nine first team regulars, with a blend of youth and experience combining for the win.
They are now looking forward to what future fixtures with a full strength squad will bring - although they will have to improve on their lowly 25% conversion rate.
