Buttonhole Lake anglers have put a new defibrillator in place ahead of their annual tournament

Generous fundraising has led to a defibrillator being installed at Buttonhole Lake.

Nick Watson, a regular angler at the lake, was instrumental in getting the safety equipment put in place.

Over £2,000 was raised to have the defibrillator installed, with lakeside safety aids also being provided.

Anglers will be hosting a safety day in a bid to learn how to administer CPR and use their new equipment.

Last week, a new match record at the lake was set after Martyn Freeman caught 274lbns 13oz.

The venue will next play host to its annual tournament this weekend (September 4 and 5).

All anglers will receive prize money, with the winner being awarded with £1,200.
