Brothers Brad and Ryan Bartram among those to star at this weekend's stock car racing in King's Lynn

Excitement is growing as stock car drivers gear up for a big weekend of action.

Stock car and Banger racing returns to the Adrian Flux Arena this Saturday (5pm) when the National Bangers take a step back in time with an all-Bluebird, Primera and Cavalier event.

There will also be a similar-sized age related class, as well as an all-Almera, Sunny and similar-aged related class.

Meanwhile, the ladies are set to make their first appearance of the season in the Unlimited Ladies - and the action-packed 1300 Stock Cars completes the bill.

2022 has so far been all about the prestigious young talent storming the National Banger scene.

Nowhere has that been more evident than in the blistering early season performances of Wisbech St Mary brothers Brad and Ryan Bartram.

The first grading of the season seen Brad zoom up to a career first star grade 'red top' grading, whilst Ryan went up to blue for the first time.

Ryan is currently in third place in the National Points, and is also in an incredible fourth place in the popular entertainer league.

No other driver is placed in the top ten in both leagues, which gives an indication of the unbelievable all round-performances which 'Ryno' has constantly delivered.

Both Brad and Ryan are in action in the bigger class of 'Old Skool' bangers this Saturday, with the former being in action in a Cavalier and the latter set to perform in a Calibra.

Other local drivers in action in this class include Max Stott and James Licquorice.

Another local pair of brothers who love performing well in these 'old skool' classes and are looking to continue their run of good form in them are Brad and Dan Wright.

Both will be in action in some classic Sunnys, while Licquorice will also be in action in this class when he turns up with a veteran Colt.

Local drivers have also performed well in the formula, and Dean Moat will be back with a red roof for the first time in 2022 following an impressive points haul in the opening meetings of the season.

Dean will be joined by his father John, who is fresh from an early season victory.

Meanwhile, Tom Alsop will be looking to continue his tremendous start to 2022 and Sonny Wright will also be looking to continue his early season progress.

Completing the action are the Unlimited Lady Bangers, where experienced lady racers Danielle Ellis and Jodie Grief will be making their first appearances of the season.
