North Cambs EBF lose in Derbyshire Trophy at Stamford Indoor Bowls Club as Northants A take revenge

Northants A took their revenge on being beaten 22-0 on their own green (for the first time in their history) by North Cambs EBF in the Newton Trophy last outdoor season.

The much larger and better resourced county were simply too good, and beat North Cambs on all four rinks, winning by 50 shots overall and by 14 points to nil.

One North Cambs rink, skipped by Nigel Eagle, were 21 shots all going into the very last (25th) end but dropped a 3 to lose 24-21.

North Cambs EBF is very keen to hear from bowlers (male and female) interested in playing at County level, particularly for the next outdoor season.

For an initial discussion just to learn of the format and what county bowls entails – with no commitment – please call county secretary Paul Bennett on 01945 480857.
