Brothers' 30 mile challenge
The three Covid-19 lockdowns have been a struggle for many children, including Trundle brothers Joshua (12) and Jake (10).
Joshua was struggling with anxiety and was put on an eight week NHS Healthy Minds course, with support from his parents and school.
As a thank you - and to raise awareness of Healthy Minds and raise money for the NHS - Joshua and Jake decided to run 30 miles each in 30 days.
They both did a fantastic job, raising a grand total so far of £895.
lThree Counties member Jacqueline McGonigle took part in the Virtual Runner Spring Half Marathon.
lDawn Ball got out her odd socks and wore blue to raise awareness of Down Syndrome and autism.
She completed her 5k run in a great time of 25:13.
World Down Syndrome day is held on March 21, so to show their support other members also wore odd socks whilst out on their run or walk. Odd socks symbolise that we are all different.
lActive Fenland junior running sessions return on April 1.
The sessions are held at Wisbech Hockey Club on a Thursday, from 5.15-6.15pm, for children aged eight to 14.
The eight-week course runs from April 1 to May 20 and costs £16. To book, email email@example.com
lThe previous week, club members ran 5k dressed in anything green or with an Irish flavour to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
lFour club members decided they wanted to test their mental and physical strength by running an ultra marathon.
Tracey Else, Tracy Adams, Matt Hunter and Craig Freestone mapped out a 3.1 and a 4.25 mile route in and around Elm.
The idea was to start running at 6am and finish at 6pm, running one of the loops every hour on the hour.
The members stuck to Covid regulations by either running solo or in pairs at 2m distance. Some of them ran a little extra within the 12 hour time limit by either doing a run back to their partner or by running the bigger loop on the odd occasion.
The Fab Four finished with the following times and distances:
Craig 53.04 miles in a moving time of 8 hr 49 min 26s; Tracey E, 41.17 in 7hr 33min 22s; Tracy A 42.19 miles; Matt 40.63miles in 8hr 6m 43s.
