Three Counties stalwart takes on ultra race through historical parts of Suffolk and Norfolk
Three Counties Running Club members had another fantastic fun fun-packed weekend of running.
Craig Freestone took on the challenge of the Peddars Way Ultra on a 48-mile route through historical Suffolk and Norfolk, Starting from Knettishall Heath Nature Reserve and running north to Holme-next-the-Sea on the Norfolk Coast.
Runners started with wet feet from the off as the boardwalk had a couple of sections that were flooded with about five inches of water due to heavy rain leading up to the event.
Freestone, who had started to flag at the 36-mile mark, had a fantastic race to eventually finish the 48 miles in a great time of 8:39:55 and came a very respectful 21st out of 83 runners.
Meanwhile, Phillip Cooper, who is training for this year's London Marathon, took part in a running event at Ferry Meadows.
The event hosted by Zig Zag running is an event that boasts the options for runners to be able to run anything from a 5k to an Ultra Marathon. The race is a 5.3km loop and the individual can choose to run as many or as few laps as they want as long as it is within the six-hour cut-off time.
Cooper took it all in his stride knowing that he was just using this event to get the miles in ready in preparation for his up-and-coming marathon, finishing in a time of 2:05:00.
