Chatteris boxer Gill spars at Ricky Hatton gym

Former world boxing champion Ricky Hatton asked for the assistance of hot British prospect Jordan ‘The Thrill’ Gill.

Chatteris-based fighter Gill was requested to spar with Hatton’s fighter from Kazikstan, Zhanat Zhakiyanov, who is preparing for his WBA World Bantamweight title fight next month in Monte Carlo. He travelled to Hatton’s gym, in Manchester, with world famous coach Dominic Ingle and assistant coach Paul Gill.

Gill said: “I’ve had some world class sparring which is keeping me sharp and in great shape.

“I’m just waiting for my next fight to be finalised before making an announcement.”

Gill will be the guest of honour at the Chatteris amateur show on Saturday, November 21, at Cromwell Community College and doors open at 6pm. Tickets for boxing only are £15, while boxing and a three-course meal are £30.
