Chatteris boxer Jordan Gill will face a Mexican opponent when he tops the bill for his homecoming show next month, it has been announced this afternoon.

The Commonwealth featherweight champion will face Emmanuel Dominguez in a bout for the WBA International title at the East of England Arena in Peterborough on March 2.

It was announced at the weekend that Gill, who stopped Ryan Doyle to win the Commonwealth belt last October, would headline the card with his first bout in his home county for five years.

Dominguez, a former national champion in Mexico, has won 24 of his 33 professional contests and has only been stopped once in his ring career.

Gill said: "This is a great opportunity for me to bring boxing back to Peterborough and I hope that this will be the first of many fights in the city.

"With it being so close to my home town of Chatteris I hope that we will be able to sell out the venue."

"I have not seen Dominguez fight but Mexicans are renowned for being tough and I can not see him being any different."
