A win for Chatteris Tennis Club Men’s 3 team in their final match of the Cambs Winter League has secured yet another promotion for them.

This success rounded off one of the most successful years in the club’s 100 year-plus history.

A club record 13 teams participated in the Cambs Summer League, Hunts & Peterborough Summer League, and Cambs Winter League in 2018, with five of those teams gaining promotion, as either champions or runners-up. The club is now planning in 2019 to enter a fourth men’s team in all three leagues it currently participates in.

League success in 2018 has provided a further example of how CTC has expanded. All year round the club has witnessed significantly higher attendances at club sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays. The junior club night and ladies only sessions introduced in 2018 have proved popular, as too is social tennis on Thursday afternoons.

The club is currently planning another coaching programme which will commence in March, which includes coaching for children over 5, and adults wishing to take up tennis as well as those who would like to return to tennis after an absence of years.
