Chatteris Cricket Club beat March 2nds, with Wisbech and Wimblington sides also in action
Chatteris 1st XI took local bragging rights by beating hosts March Town 2nds by six wickets in Cambs & Hunts CCA Senior League Division 1.
March, in eighth spot, struggled to 113-9 when their 45 overs closed. Skipper and opener Tommy Howgego hit 35, Nigel Wright 16, Lewis Welcher 11, Matthew Vail 10 and Kian Pooley 14.
Anton Kaval bagged 1-30, Matthew Hollis 1-22, Stuart Porter 3-25, Peter Munns 2-12 and Anthony Bamford 3-10 in a tight attack.
Chatteris made 114-4 to win with nearly seven overs to spare, and collected 20 points to sit in fifth place. Kurt Cunningham hit 15, fellow opening bat Anthony Bamford 15, Peter Munns 36 and Ben Hollis not out 28.
Ross Clarke took 1-30, Mark Deas 1-10, Kian Pooley 1-8 and Scott Welcher 1-8.
March 3rds are second from bottom in CCA Junior League 3 North after losing to Wilburton 2nds by 52 runs.
Away side Wilburton posted 228-4 in 40 overs. Charlie Bradshaw captured 1-38, Sandeep Peramulla 1-28 and Nick Pooley 1-24.
March replied with 176 in 39 overs. Opener Alex Oldham was run out for 50, wicket keeper Callum Duncan also run out for 27 and Nick Pooley 45.
League leaders Wisbech Town's match was over in the early afternoon after hammering Old Leysians by 10 wickets.
Old Leysians had only ten players and two did not bat, which left them at a paltry 54 for seven wickets down from 17.4 overs - and thus all out in Whiting & Partners Division 1.
George Gowler bagged 1-25 and fellow opening bowler Kieran Haynes 8.4-2-27-6.
Gary Freear creamed 40 not out from 17 balls including seven fours, and Danny Haynes 15 from ten balls in a quick finish - smashing 56 with loss in just 4.3 overs for yet another maximum 30-point success.
Ninth-placed Wisbech 2nds fell to Division 3 defeat by 97 runs at Biggleswade.
Biggleswade were 245 all out in 43.1 overs. Brodie Ellis took 3-52, Ali Anthony 2-35, Chris Clark 1-37, Joe Dunning 1-46 and Tom Buck 2-60.
Wisbech replied with 148 all out from 35 overs after being a promising 82-2. Thomas Hoyle hit 23, Spencer Snowball 40, wicket keeper Ross Gardner 25 and Clark 19.
Wisbech 3rds were crushed at Over and Willingham by 10 wickets in CCA Junior League 2 North.
Wisbech were skittled for 85 from 33 overs. Nick Osbourne struck 15, Martin Woollard 10, Matt Murphy 28 and Harry Griffin not out 13.
Over and Willingham raced to 89 without loss in just the 17th over.
Laying in fourth position in CCA Junior League 5 North, Wisbech 4ths lost to visitors Burwell & Exning 3rds by six wickets.
Wisbech were dismissed for 91 in 24.3 overs. Opener Adrian Clare hit 36, skipper Gavin Plume 17 and Elliott Peck 12.
The evergreen John Mallett grabbed 7-3-15-4 as Burwell & Exning reached 95-4 in 24 overs.
Visitors Telugu Association of Cambridge defeated Chatteris 2nds by 41 runs in CCA Junior League 2 North.
Telugu Association set 236-7 from 40 overs. Oliver Tilbrook captured 1-37, Peter Gunn 2-38, Clive Welsman 1-34 and Liam Boxall 1-34.
Chatteris, who are now in fourth spot, made 195-7 when their innings closed. 'Keeper Ben Perry made 40, Daniel Berrill 47 off 57 balls with six fours, skipper Liam Boxall 31 from just 27 deliveries, Robbie Bradshaw 18 and Welsman not out 14.
Third-spot Wimblington were beaten at CCA Junior League 4 North leaders Milton 2nds by 72 runs.
Milton posted 179 as the 40 overs closed. Leon Walker took a tidy 8-3-13-3, Nathan Marsh 2-29, Jack Marsh 2-35 and Paul King 2-39.
Wimblington were 107 all out from 38 overs. Jack Marsh hit 12, Robert Kemp 21, Marcus Larham 15 and Nathan Marsh 16. Paul King did not bat.
