Comfortable away win for March Town and good point on the road for Wisbech Town




March Town cruised to an away win on Boxing Day while Wisbech Town picked up a handy point on the road.

The Hares rise to fourth in the United Counties Premier South after a 3-0 win at 14th-place Yaxley.

Matty Foy gave them a fifth-minute lead with his tenth goal of the season and a 21st-minute effort from Danny Emmington - his fifth of the campaign - made it 2-0 at half-time. Craig Gillies wrapped up the scoring eight minutes after the break with his 14th goal so far.

March are next in action when they entertain 13th-place Lutterworth Town next Saturday, January 4.

Robert Conyard gave The Fenmen a 16th-minute lead but former Wisbech man Matty Sparrow equalised for the home team five minutes later.

Wisbech’s Ethan Wilson and Rangers’ Josh Moreman were shown red cards for late challenges in the second half.

Luke Hipwell’s men are next in action when they travel to play bottom side Kimberley Miners Welfare on Saturday, January 4.

In the Thurlow Nunn First Division North, ninth-place Parson Drove entertain 14th-place AFC Sudbury Reserves on January 4, while 16th-place Whittlesey Athletic are at home to tenth-place Pinchbeck United tomorrow (Saturday) before taking on eighth-place Gorleston Reserves away the following weekend.
