Three Fenland runners took on the long-delayed Coniston 14, an undulating and beautiful road race around Coniston Water in Cumbria.
Normally held in March, the pandemic had pushed the 2020 event back to October 2021. Weather conditions were perfect with a cool temperature, a light drizzle, and no wind, although low cloud obscured some of the majestic views.
Out of a total turnout of 665 runners, Fenland put in a strong performance with Rimvydas Muduras on his first Coniston outing coming in at 1:26:53, ninth place overall. Tom Richards 1:44:57, 102nd, and Jac Richards, with a new personal best of 2:19:51, 452nd.
