Haynes and Guy Hammond (2-29) reduce visitors to 55-8

Kieran Haynes starred with figures of 10-3-18-6 as Wisbech Town CC made it two wins out of two to begin the Cambs League season.

Haynes and Guy Hammond (2-29) made the initial breakthroughs into the Thriplow top order.

Then Haynes ripped through the middle order to reduce the visitors to 55-8. Thriplow rallied but still posted a modest 103.

Despite Gary Freear going cheaply for 4 and in-form Josh Bowers falling for a duck, the hosts got home with more than half their overs to spare.

Dom Stannard, James Williams and Sam Albutt all reached the twenties.

Stannard and Williams steadied the ship with a third-wicket stand of 64.

It puts Wisbech as one of three teams on 60 points behind leaders Sawston and Babraham on 90 and who have played three games in Division One. Next Saturday Wisbech head to Histon who are immediately below them in the table.
