The Bears, The Young Crows, The Legends...who will win the March CC T20 Family Fun Day at The Avenue on Sunday, August 25?

Each team will have their own star performers and selections will be announced nearer the time.

It is hoped The Legends, skippered by former March club captain Chris Ringham, will contain players from the winning Tucker League championship sides of 2005 and 2007.

Expect to see Aussie all-rounder Steve Seymour back in the ranks, as he will be over in the UK watching The Ashes series.

The day is not all about the top players as the 5-8 year old All Stars will get their chance to showcase their skills. They start the day with a pairs competition alongside an adult, so it could be dads and lads and mums and daughters in action.

The full programme for the day is: 10.30am – All Stars pairs competition.

Noon – First T20 match between The Bears (March Rugby Club) and The Young Crows (MTCC Under-19s).

2.45pm – Junior section presentation of trophies.

3pm – All Stars Cricket.

4pm – Second T20 between the winners of Match 1 and The Legends.

6.30pm – social evening in the pavilion.

There will be barbecue food throughout the day and a gin festival, plus a bouncy castle for the youngsters.

Club president Pat Ringham said: “We’ve had T20 matches before and 3-Day Festivals for the children for several years but this is probably a first, bringing the whole family together for a day’s cricket!

“Let’s hope the sun shines and we get the support from everyone to make this an annual event?”
