March CC seal first double over Wisbech in Rutland League
The last Sunday match of the season saw March 1st XI beat Wisbech 1st XI by 24 runs in the Rutland League Division One.
March batted first and were bowled out for 138.
Top scorer was man of the match Ben Chapman with 70, hitting 13 fours.
Adam Conyard, Sam Clarke and Geoff Kirby also reached double figures.
Bowling well for Wisbech were George Gowler 4 for 48, Kieran Haynes 3 for 13 and Gary Freear 2 for 20.
In reply, Wisbech collapsed to 114 all out.
County wicketkeeper/batsman Josh Bowers top scored with 37 and Hamish McCulloch scored 26.
March overseas player Saranga Rajaguru took 4 for 26 with support from Shardul Brahmbhatt 3 for 34 and James Harradine 2 for 29.
It was the first time March have completed a Rutland League double over Wisbech who they also beat twice on Saturdays in the Whitings Cambs League.
Both clubs finished in mid-table in Division 1 (March fourth and Wisbech fifth).
Rajaguru had starred with 96 and 6-18 the previous week with March who posted 205 all out in 44.5 overs (Chapman 22) to easily beat Oundle 107 all out, 23 overs (James Harradine 2-26).
Werrington 2nd XI conceded their Rutland League Division 4 East game on Sunday with Wisbech 2nds.
