Cambs & Hunts Premier League – Whiting & Partners Division 1

Wisbech Town lost to Foxton in a reduced-overs Whitings League game on Saturday by seven wickets after morning rain.

Wisbech had posted 100 runs by the 23rd over for three wickets down, but could not build from there to set a very challenging target.

Dominic Stannard joint-top scored with 40 off 61 balls, with three fours and a six.

James Williams also compiled 40, from 45 balls with five boundaries.

Stannard and skipper Gary Freear, 19, added 51 for the third wicket.

Wisbech reduced the hosts to 90-3 but all of Foxton’s order reached double figures and a quick stand between Craig Park not out 26 and David Fagan not out 48 saw them home with plenty of overs to spare.
