Annual Halloween Carnival night at King’s Lynn this Saturday after last weekend’s BriSCA season finale saw mixed fortunes for David Polley
One of the biggest meetings of the season takes place at King’s Lynn this Saturday with the annual Halloween Carnival night.
The event features the Unlimited Bangers who will be racing in the Supernatural Championship – a race for Hearses and Limousines, 1300 Stock Cars who will be contesting the World of Shale and Reliant Robins.
This is a great family-orientated event (5pm) and also includes a gigantic fireworks display and a Halloween fancy dress parade for all the kids. This is also the final meeting of the season with no more racing at King’s Lynn until December.
This meeting has been a sellout for the past few seasons and is advance ticket only. Tickets are expected to sell out by Thursday or Friday at the latest and are only available from the Trackstar website at www.stockcar-racing.co.uk.
Around 100 Unlimited Bangers are expected to be in action and everyone who is anyone in the local Unlimited Banger scene will be in action.
This meeting is made for Nicky Young who loves to be out there in something different from the norm to entertain fans and is always known for putting on a rated show. He always finds something different for the supernatural championship and has promised something different for this year’s race. Young took the chequered flag in a hearse in last year’s championship.
Brad Bartram will be looking to continue his march towards the National Points Champion while James Licquorice will also be looking to score more entertainer points as he can already be confirmed as the 2024 champion elect as he is so far ahead.
Other local drivers in action include Brad Nartram, Kieran Gray, James Ellis, Rhys Parrin, Tom Waller, Joe Geeves, Lee Barnes, Mark Freeman and James Cable.
The 1300 Stock Car World of Shale will see Dean Moat looking for revenge after coming close to taking the title last season. He will be joined on the grid by brother Shane and father John together with Sonny Wright and Barty Ketteringham.
Roy Gedge, Edward Pindar and brothers Olly and Andrew Betts will all be in action in the Robins.
The curtain came down on the BriSCA season last Saturday. The main interest saw David Polley in action in both formulas trying to qualify for the final stage of the F1 Stock Car National Shootout as well as defend his World of Shale title from the back of the grid.
Although Polley didn’t have the best results in his F1 Stock Car, he did enough to edge out Jelle Tesselaar for the final spot in his group to make the last six in the battle for the F1 Shootout. It would be an amazing achievement if he was to win it in his first full season of BriSCA F1.
In his first UK F2 meeting in the BriSCA F2 Stock Cars, Polley did fantastic to come home in seventh place from position 39 in his defence of the World of Shale which was won by Charlie Guinchard.
